Maureen Walker (she/her/hers)
Maureen is the Program Administrator for the THRIVE! Host Home Network. She joined the SHIP team in August 2019. Maureen received her MSW from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, and has been working in youth homelessness since Fall 2018. She has over ten years of experience working with youth and young adults, both domestically and internationally. Maureen is committed to ending youth homelessness in Maryland, and ensuring youth have access to their most basic human rights. When she’s not working, she loves to spend time with family and friends, bake, read, and hang out with her cat.
Orlyn Aaron (he/him/his)
Orlyn Aaron is the Youth Case Manager for the THRIVE! Host Home Network. Orlyn comes to SHIP with an extensive background in working with at-risk youth. For the past ten years, he has been engaged in dealing with the critical issues surrounding youth homelessness and youth development. He previously worked for the New York City YMCA, McBurney branch. He created and implemented outreach programs targeting at-risk youth. He also facilitated workshops for these same youth and staff in the areas of Social/Emotional Learning, Child Abuse Prevention, Ethics, Boundaries, and Risk Management. He also had the privilege to work for New York City Covenant House, where he served as a Resident Advisor. He referred residents for substance abuse treatment, mental health evaluations, and legal support. He assisted them in developing Individualized Service Plans to address their career and interpersonal goals.
He is passionate about the betterment of targeted youth in the areas of leadership development, education, and peer mediation. He strives to educate all youth in social justice issues and knowing one’s self because he knows the importance it carries in navigating and being successful in adulthood.
Ed Hinde (he/him/his)
Ed is Co-founder and Executive Director of SHIP of Frederick County. Prior to helping to create the organization in 2013, he served in a number of Marketing Service roles for leading consumer packaged good brands, both domestically and internationally. Ed is a leading advocate for ending youth homelessness in Maryland, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Frederick County Coalition for the Homelessness (CoC).
